Anti Aging Desserts Recipe
The fruits
in this anti-aging recipe provide a rich supply of valuable age-defying
antioxidants that will benefit any anti aging diet. Served hot, the

The combination of fresh and dried fruit provides a healthy dose of
anti aging vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, beta-carotene,
potassium and iron.

Ingredients :
Serves 6

475ml / 16 fl oz / 2 cups freshly squeezed
orange juice

finely grated rind and juice of 1 orange

120ml / 4 fl oz / ½ cup red wine

45ml / 3 tbsp clear honey
-
1 cinnamon stick, broken in half

4 cloves
-
4 cardamom pods, split
-
2 pears, such as Cornice or William,
peeled, cored and halved

8 ready-to-eat dried figs
-
12 ready-to-eat dried unsulphured
apricots

2 eating apples, peeled, cored and
thickly sliced

Method :

Pour the orange juice into a large, heavy
pan and add half the orange rind, the red wine, honey, cinnamon stick,
cloves and cardamom pods.

Bring the orange juice and spices to the
boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for about 2 minutes,
stirring occasionally.

Add the halved pears, dried figs and
apricots to the pan and cook, covered, for 25 minutes, turning the
fruit over occasionally with a wooden spoon. Add the sliced apples and
cook for a further 12-15 minutes until the fruit is tender and juicy.

Remove the fruit from the pan with a
slotted spoon and place them in a bowl. Remove the spices from the
juice and discard. Boil the juices over a high heat until reduced and
syrupy, then pour over the fruit. Serve decorated with the remaining
orange rind, if wished.
