Chicken Soup With Herbs Recipe

This nutritious Teochew confinement chicken soup helps to strengthen post-natal body during confinement.

Ingredients :Traditional Chinese Teochew Confinement Food Recipe - Chicken Soup With Herbs

  • 600g chicken

  • 1 small piece fresh ginger (smashed)

  • 3 tbsp D.O.M

  • 2 bowl water

    Seasoning :

  • pinch of salt

  • ½ tbsp concentrated chicken broth

    Chinese Herbs :

  • 20 pieces dried longan

  • 10 pieces Codonopsitis Pilosulae (Dang Shen)

  • 8 slices Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui)

  • 8 pieces red dates

  • 1 tbsp Chinese wolfberries or goji berries (Qi Zi)

Method :

  1. Wash and cut the chicken into few chunks, then blanch in boiling water and drain.

  2. Wash Chinese herbs with hot water and then put them into stewing pot together with chicken, add in water and stew for 3 hours. Season and pour in wine before serving.
